This week too the Synodic and Peripheral events of the Church of Greece for the completion of 200 years since the outset of the Greek Revolution. All the measures stipulated for the protection from the Coronavirus are observed. Specifically:

On Wednesday, July 14
The Holy Metropolitanare of Paronaxia honours the memory of the Naxiot Saint Nikodemos of Hagiorite, who, through his writings, preserved the Orthodox faith of those enslaved during the Turkish Rule, with the following events on the island of Naxos:
(a) 07h : Matins and Archieratical Divine Liturgy in the holy church of Saint Nikodemos on Naxos, with Most Rev. Metropolitan Gheorghios of Thebes and Levadeia officiating and His Grace Bishop Bartholomaios of Kerama and Most Rev. Metropolitan Kallinikos of Paronaxia co-officiating
(b) 07h30 : Matins and Solemn Joint Liturgy of priests in the holy church of Saint Nikodemos at Glinadon of Naxos
(c) 19h30 : Post-feast Archieratical Vespers and Paraclesis of the Saint in the holy church of Saint Nikodemos of the town of Naxos.

On Saturday, July 17
The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an event at 20h in the holy church of Saint Constantine and Helen in Saint Constantine of Lokris on the subject “The Fight of the Revolted Greeks at sea”.
The event will be broadcast online from the website of the Holy Metropolitanate.

On Sunday, July 18
The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an event at 20h in the holy church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul of Pelasgia on the subject “Preparing the great Revolution”.
There will also be an online broadcast from the www.i­m­f­th.gr  website.
The Holy Metropolitanate of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos organises an anniversary event in cooperation with the Municipality of Oropos to honour the Battle of Oropos of July 13, 1829. The timetable is as follows:
08h – 10h : Divine Liturgy in the historical holy church of Dormition of the Mother of God in Oropos (built in the 12th century).
10h30 : Memorial Service – Laying of wreaths before the memorial of the town.
20h : Speech and artistic events in the cultural area of the penitentiary facilities at Skala of Oropos.
