On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution, the Holy Metropolitanate of Thebes and Levadeia created a short film on the contribution of the Monasteries of Bœotia to the Revolution of 1821. This film constitutes a humble reflection of all that Bœotian Monasteries and the Fighters of Roumeli (i.e. Central Greece) offered to the Uprising of the Nation, as a minimal token of honour and commemoration to the clergy and lay fighters of 1821, whether known or unknown, who took up arms for the freedom of our fatherland.
