Inauguration of a visual arts exhibition entitled “The first flag” in the Holy Monastery of Evanghelistria of Skiathos

In the afternoon of Pentecost Sunday, June 20, 2021, Most Rev. Metropolitan Chryssostomos of Halkis, Istiaia and Northern Sporades received a multitude of state dignitaries in the Holy Monastery of Evanghelistria on the island of Skiathos and performed a Service of Sanctification for the inauguration of the group visual arts exhibition organised by the Region of Thessaly and the Municipality of Skiathos in cooperation with the “Greece 2021” Committee, under the title “The first flag”, since that particular Monastery is the site where the first Greek flag was made in 1807.

Ms Iris Kritikou, art historian, introduced and guided the visitors of the first day to the contents of the exhibition, which will last until September
