The Synodic and peripheral events of the Church of Greece for the bicentenary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821 are continued this week too, with all the measures stipulated for the protection from the Coronavirus.

Specifically,

Tuesday, November 23 :
At 19h the Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an anniversary event in the holy church of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple in Amphikleia, in cooperation with the Municipality of Amphikleia-Elateia, on the topic of “Significant personalities prior to and during the Revolution”.

Saturday, November 27 :
At 19h the Holy Metropolitanate of Cephalonia organises a scholarly Soirée in the Municipal Theatre of Argostolion, with papers to be delivered by Greek academics and a welcome address by Most Rev. Metropolitan Demetrios of Cephalonia.

Sunday, November 28 :
At 18h the Holy Metropolitanate of Edessa, Pella and Almopia organises an anniversary event in the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Pella in Ghiannitsa. Most Rev. Metropolitan Demetrios of Goumenissa, Axioupolis and Polykastron will address the participants in his capacity of representative of the Holy Synod, and the local Most Rev. Metropolitan Ioel of Edessa, Pella and Almopia will do likewise. A relevant public lecture by a local clergyman will follow on the subject of Saint Chryssi the Neomartyr and what the Neomartyrs offered to the Freedom of the Nation. Hymns will be performed by the Choir of the School of Byzantine Music of the Metropolitanate and traditional songs will be presented by the EN EITE Choir of the holy church of Saint George of Ghiannitsa. In the end a film will be shown on the subject of the life and martyrdom of Saint Chryssi, produced by the Parish of the Dormition of the Mother of God of Almopia.
