This week too (from October 24 to 31) the Synodic and peripheral events of the Church of Greece for the bicentenary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821 are continued.
Specifically:

On Sunday, October 24:

_At 11h the Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an event in the holy church of Saint Demetrios of Spercheias on the subject : “Civil strife during the Fight of 1821 for National Liberation”.

_The Holy Metropolitanate of Nafpaktos and Saint Vlassios honours Saint Damaskenos Stouditis, Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Arta during the 16th century and great Master of the Nation.
At 19h an event on the subject “Hosios Damaskenos, Metropolitan of Nafpaktos, kindling the heroic spirit at the beginning of the Turkish Rule”. Local educators and clergymen will participate in the presentation.
The event will be held with closed doors and will be broadcast on the paremvasis.gr website of the Holy Metropolitanate of Nafpaktos as well as by local TV channels.


On Tuesday, October 26:

The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises:

  • at 11h an event in the holy church of Saint Demetrios of Lamia on the subject “Political personalities of the Greek Revolution”;
  • at 19h30 another event in the holy church of Saint Demetrios of Tithorea on the subject “Klephts and Armatoloi [i.e. Christian Greek militia] of Roumeli”.



On Thursday, October 28:

_At 18h the Holy Metropolitanare of Phthiotis organises an event in the Saint Ephraim Creative Occupation Centre on the subject “200 years of a free Greek state”.

 

In all the events all the measures required for the protection against the Coronavirus pandemic are observed.
