This week too the Synodic and Peripheral events of the Church of Greece are continued for the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution, always with the measures stipulated for the protection from the coronavirus observed.

Specifically, on Friday, June 11, the Holy Metropolitanate of Patras will receive the relics of the National Rouser Metropolitan Ghermanos of Old Patras, which are kept in the Municipal Library of his birthplace, Dimitsana. The official reception will take place at 19h before the holy church of Saint Andreas of Patras by Most Rev. Metropolitan Chryssostomos of Patras and representatives of local authorities.

On Sunday, June 13, the Holy Metropolitanate will honour Ghermanos of Old Patras through the discharge of a Polyarchieratical Divine Liturgy in the holy church of Saint Andreas.

Subsequently, a Memorial Service will be performed for the rest of the soul of the heroic Metropolitan. His bones will remain in Patras until Monday, June 14. As is known, the late Hierarch slept in the Lord in Nafplion in 1826.

All the events will be broadcast through television and online by “O Lychnos” TV station of the Holy Metropolitanate of Patras.
