This week, too, the Synodic and peripheral events `of the Church of Greece for the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 are continued:

Tuesday, September 7 :
_At 17h45 Most Rev. Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina will officiate in a Solemn Vespers in the holy Church of BVM of Armata, Spetses, within the framework of the festivities for the Nativity of BVM and the anniversary of the victorious naval battle of Spetses (September 8, 1822).

_The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an event at 21h in the Holy Monastery of Andinitsa. Most Rev. Metropolitan Symeon of Phthiotis will officiate in a Solemn Archieratical Vespers for the Nativity of BVM and subsequently the 41st planned anniversary event of the Metropolitanate will be carried out on the subject of “Monasticism in the Struggle of 1821 for the Liberation of the Nation”.


Wednesday, September 8 (Nativity of BVM)
:

In cooperation with the Municipality of Spetses the Holy Metropolitanate of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina will honour the anniversary of the Sea Battle of Spetses. Most Rev. Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina will perform a Divine Liturgy in the holy church of BVM of Armata, Spetses.


Friday, September 10 :
The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis organises an event at 20h, in the holy church of Saint Constantine of Magnesia of Lamia. The 42nd anniversary event of the Metropolitanate will be on the subject “The Revolution of 1821 in the Ionian land”.


Saturday, September 11 :
_At 10 a.m. the Holy Metropolitanate of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina organises a scholarly one-day conference on the subject of “The contribution of Hydra, Spetses, Psara and other naval islands to the Revolution of 1821”.
Papers will be delivered by eminent scholars and clergymen and the event will be coordinated by Ms Olga Katsiardi, Professor Emerita of the History of Modern Hellenism.

_At 10h30 a.m., in the Department of Medicine of Larissa, the Holy Metropolitanate of Larissa and Tyrnavos organises an event on the central topic “200 years. And from now on what?”, with Most Rev. Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Undersecretary of Education and Religious Affairs, and eminent scholars as speakers and Very Rev. Protopresbyter Father Themistocles Mourtzanos, Director of the “Achilleios’ Polis” Review coordinating the event. Most Rev. Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos and representatives of the local government and local University authorities will address the participants.

_At 18h the Holy Metropolitanate of Messenia organises an anniversary event on the subjects of “The Church in Messene prior to and after the Struggle” and “Bishop Ioseph of Messene from Androussa and his political work”. Detailed information see here.


Sunday, September 12 :
_In the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Nicholas of Spetses a Polyarchieratical Divine Liturgy will be performed with Most Rev. Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Irakleion and Halkedon, representative of the Holy Synod of the Churcvh of Greece, officiating. At 10h15 a Doxology will be performed in memory of the victorious naval battle of Spetses in September 1822. Wreaths will be laid before the Memorial of the Heroes Fallen and a Solemn Address will be delivered.

_At 11h in the courtyard of the holy church of Saint Athanasios of mountainous Rapsani, the Holy Metropolitanate of Larissa and Tyrnavos will hold a Conference on the Neomartyrs and the Logades of our nation. The Conference is part of the events organised by the Holy Metropolinate of Larissa and Tyrnavos in cooperation with the Municipality of Tempi for the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution, with local scholars delivering papers on key personalities of the time, Most Rev. Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos and the Mayor of Tempi addressing the participants, and the Protosynkellos Father Ignatios Mourtzanos, head of the Cultural Identity Office of the Metropolitanate of Larissa and Tyrnavos coordinasting the event.

_At 20h in the courtyard of the holy church of BVM of Xenoi the Holy Metropolitanate of Nikopolis and Preveza organises a one-day conference on the topic “For Faith and Fatherland”. Papers will be delivered by eminent clergymen and scholars.
