This week too the Synodic and peripheral events of the Church of Greece for the bicentenary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821 are continued.

Specifically,

Saturday, November 13

The three-day-long events of the Holy Metropolitanate of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina in honour of Saint Constantine the Neomartyr from Hydra commence on the island of Hydra.
At 17h the Small Vespers will be performed in the holy church of Saint Constantine from Hydra.
At 18h30 the Great Vespers will be performed in the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God of Hydra, with Most Rev. Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina and the visiting Most Rev. Bishops officiating.


Sunday, November 14

The events of the Holy Metropolitanate of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina are continued on the island of Hydra.
In the morning a Polyarchieratical Divine Liturgy will be performed in the holy church of Saint Constantine from Hydra.
At 10h30 a Doxology will be performed and subsequently a procession will be formed and will be concluded in the holy Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God.
At 17h the Vespers of the Leave-Taking of the Feast of the in the holy church of Saint Constantine from Hydra.
In the holy services the “Saint Makarios Notaras” Choir will chant under the direction of Mr Anghelos Diamantopoulos, Chief Cantor. Archimandrite Nektarios Dardanos, Protosynkellos of the Holy Metropolitanate, has been appointed master of ceremonies.

_In the Holy Metropolitanate of Patras the bishops sacrificed for faith and fatherland will be honoured, namely Neophytos (+1466), impaled by the Turks, Ghermanos I (+1572), cut to pieced by the Turks and thrown into fire, and Parthenios V, who died while in exile in Russia, after he led a revolutionary movement against the Turks during the so-called Orlov Revolt (1700).
In the morning of Sunday an Archieratical Divine Liturgy and a memorial service will be performed with Most Rev. Metropolitan Chryssostomos of Patras officiating. Subsequently, busts of the bishops commemorated will be unveiled in the courtyard of the holy church of Saint Andrew of Patras the Apostle.
At 17h in Omonoia Square of Patras an event will be held in commemoration of the Unknown Warrior, followed by a memorial service, a public lecture by Most Rev. Metropolitan Chryssostomos of Patras, a laying of wreaths, and traditional dances by the Achaean workshop and the “Holy Lavra” Hearth of the Kalavrytians of Patras.

_The Holy Metropolitanate of Cassandreia will honour the memory of those fallen in the Holocaust of Cassandra in November of 1821. Specifically, Most Rev. Metropolitan Nikodemos of Cassandreia will perform a Solemn Divine Liturgy and a Doxology in the holy church of Saint George in Nea Potidaia. Subsequently a public lecture will be delivered by Mr Nikolaos Papaoikonomou, schoolteacher.


Monday, November 15

The events of the Holy Metropolitanate of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina are completed. In the morning a Matins and an Archieratical Divine Liturgy will be performed in the holy church of Saint Constantine the Neomartyr and subsequently Most Rev. Metropolitan Ephraim of Hydra, Spetses and Aeghina will perform the Ktitorikon Memorial Service of the late Metropolitan Ierotheos of Hydra.

In all these events all the measures stipulated for the protection from the Coronavirus are observed.
