Yesterday, Saturday, September 11, 2021, a grand concert in the Kallimarmaron Panathinaicon Stadium for the bicentenary of the National Palingenesia was carried out successfully, organised by the Synodic Committee of Christian Education of Youth, the Synodic Sub-Committee of Artistic Events, and the Special Synodic Committee on Cultural Identity.

In order to observe all the sanitary measures of protection from the Coronavirus, only 5,000 spectators were admitted, while the event was broadcast by ERT Greek Radio and Television.

HB Archbishop Ieronymos II of Athens and all Greece, accompanied by a numerous entourage of Metropolitans and Church dignitaries attended the event. HB the Archbishop addressed the audience by thanking all those who contributed to its success and highlighting the fact that this concert was the first time that three newly founded musical ensembles of the Church of Greece were launched. Popular singers and actors participated, as well as 26 youth and children’s choirs.

At the end of the event, all the spectators sang the recently departed Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis’ “Sun of Justice Perceivable”, chanted the national anthem standing as well as HB Archbishop Ieronymos’ anthem (pheme).
