This week, too, the events of the Holy Metropolitanates of the Church of Greece for the bicentenary of the Greek Revolution of 1821 will be continued. Specifically:

Tuesday, June 15

10:30 a.m. |  Within the framework of the 27th Pavleia events, the Holy Metropolitanate of Veroia, Naoussa and Campania will organize a one-day conference for spouses of priests on the subject “What women offered to the Revolution” (holy church of Saint Loukas, Holy Monastery of BVM of Dovras). The event will be broadcast from the website of the Holy Metropolitanate.


Saturday, June 19

11:00 a.m. | The Holy Metropolitanate of Phthiotis will organize an online public lecture in the morning, after the end of the Divine Liturgy, on the subject “The Fighter of the Revolution Odysseus Androutsos”. The Divine Liturgy will be performed in the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Livanates, with Most Rev. Metropolitan Symeon officiating. The events will be broadcast from the website of the Holy Metropolitanate.

18:00 | On the occasion of the celebration of the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution, the Holy Metropolitanate of Messenia ερά Μητρόπολη Μεσσηνίας, continuing the implementation of the anniversary events planned, launches a Scholarly One-Day Conference on the subject “Unknown Messenian Clergymen, Fighters of 1821”, with Mr Marios Athanassopoulos, member of the teaching staff of the Department of Classics of the University of the Peloponnese, as keynote speaker. Due to the restriction measures, the Conference has been recorded and will be broadcast online from the YouTube channel of the Holy Metropolitanate, under the title : Holy Metropolitanate of Messenia – Celebration of the Bicentenary.
