HE the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms Aekaterini Sakellaropoulou attended the anniversary events in memory of the late Ioannis Capodistrias in Nafplion, on Monday, September 27, 2021. The first citizen of the country participated in the annual Memorial Service for Ioannis Capodistrias in the holy church of Saint Spyridon, with honours duly paid and wreaths laid before the statue of the first Governor of the country. An anniversary address followed in the first Parliament of the Greeks, the Vouleftikon, about Capodistrias’ life and work. The Memorial Service was performed by Most Rev. Metropolitan Nektarios of Argolis with HE the President of the Republic, several state dignitaries, representatives of cultural associations and bodies, and school pupils attending, while a military detachment paid the honours due.
