On the occasion of the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution and in continuation of the implementation of the anniversary events planned, on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 18h, the Holy Metropolitanate of Messenia will present an anniversary event with public lectures to be delivered by the following speakers:

  1. “The Church in Messene prior and after the Struggle”, by Ms Despoina Mihalaga, Assistant Professor of Contemporary Ecclesiastical History at the National and Capodistrian University of Athens, and
  2. “Bishop Iospeh of Messene from Androussa and his political work”, by Ms Eleni Palioura, Attorney-at-Law, holder of Master’s degrees in Ecclesiastical Law and Canonical Law.
