Within the framework of the series of events organized by the Holy Metropolitanate of Kitros, Katerini and Platamon on the occasion of the celebration of the bicentenary of the Revolution of 1821, the Youth Office of the Holy Metropolitanate invites all students to unfold their talent.

Students are invited to take part in a beautiful online competition on the subject: “1821-2021, 200 years since the Revolution”.

Specifically, primary school pupils and high-school students may paint something relevant to the subject or write a poem. The works must be mailed through the electronic mail by the end of February 2021, when the competition will be closed.

All participants will receive a memento from the Most Rev. Metropolitan Gheorghios for their participation, while the best three works from all categories will be awarded prizes after being put to the judgment of a specialized artistic committee.

By means of this action the local Church highlights the messages of the Revolution of 1821, which are perennial and create prospects of a better tomorrow for the young men and women of Pieria. At the same time, it keeps its contact with children alive, since catechetical synaxes as well as the other activities have ceased during this period because of the pandemic.
