Honouring the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the Metropolitanate of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Irakleion and Halkidon presents an original youth anniversary film dedicated to the life and the sacrifice of the great hero and fighter of 1821, the famous Nikitaras.

The film will be projected online on March 25 and at 20h00 on the official Facebook page of the Holy Metropolitanate (@mitropoliNif).

1821 reminds us all of the combative, courageous, and indomitable soul of the Greek. 200 years later we honour our heroic ancestors who founded free Greece! We honour the heroes who, with their fights and sacrifices, delivered our nation from a terrible slavery and restored freedom in our fatherland.
