Within the framework of the celebration of the bicentenary of the declaration of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece organizes an online event on the subject “1821, 200 years – Memory as inspiration to the Greeks and Philhellenes of the world”.

In this event, pupils from the Arsakeia Schools of Athens, the 3rd Primary School of Neo Psyhiko, The Greek School of Adis Ababa, the Greek High-school of Bielefeld, the “Demetrios and Gheorghia Kaloidi” Day School, the Greek Afternoon School of the Church of the Holy Cross, Brooklyn NY, the “Athenagoras” Greek School of Buenos Aires, the Greek High-school of Düsseldorf, the Free Greek School of Freiburg, the Department of Greek of Grenoble, the Greek School of Nice, Côte d’Azur and Monaco and the Department of Greek of Strasbourg, inspired by the events, persons and ideals of the Greek Revolution, express themselves creatively through art and jointly celebrate the event of the 1821 Revolution from their respective lands.

The objective of this initiative is for male and female pupils to become creatively immersed in the “Palingenesia” [i.e Regeneration] of 1821, be inspired by the values of the Struggle, express themselves through art and communicate between them thus highlighting 1821 as a factor of unity for Hellenism worldwide.

The videos, together with a short presentation of each school, will be presented in a special online event to be carried out on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 19h (Greek time), with the coordination and hospitality of the Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece.
