On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Most Rev. Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias, Chairman of the Special Synodic Committee of the Church of Greece on Cultural Identity, visited the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, where he met with the Minister, the Undersecretary for Primary and Secondary Education and Special Education, and the Undersecretary for High Education.

On behalf of HB Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, and of the Holy Synod, the Most Rev. Metropolitan handed in to the Minister and the Undersecretaries the complete series of 10 volumes comprising the Proceedings of the Conferences organised by the Church of Greece to honour the bicentenary of the outset of the Greek Revolution.

The Conferences were carried out from 2012 to 2020 and covered a wide range of topics related to the Turkish Rule and the Greek Revolution. As its contribution to the celebration, the Church of Greece deposits a series of scholarly works on a variety of subjects and extensive bibliography.

Besides, Most Rev. Ignatios thanked the Minister for the excellent cooperation of the services of the Ministry with the Church of Greece for the organisation of three school competitions, during which pupils of the 5th and 4th grades were given the opportunity to create a 6-minute-long video on a personality of their choosing from the period before, during or after the Revolution of 1821.
