On Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 19h, the Holy Synod of the Church will present the ten volumes containing the respective Scholarly Conferences, which refer to the period of the Turkish Rule and the Greek Revolution. The Conferences were organised during the period from 2012 to 2020 and their Proceedings have been published by the ARCHONTARIKI Publishing House.

The event is part of the celebrations of the bicentenary of the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and will take place in the Synodic Palace.  HB Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece, Most Rev. Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias and Almyros, President of the Special Synodic Committee on Cultural Identity, which had the task of organising the ten Conferences.

The contents of the volumes will be presented by Most Rev. Metropolitans Demetrios of Cephalonia as representative of the Standing Holy Synod, and Bartholomaios of Polyani and Kilkission, and Professor Emmanuel Varvounis, Dean of the Faculty of Humanist Studies of the Democritean University of Thrace and President of the Scholarly Committee of the Conferences.

Very Rev. Archimandrite Damaskenos Petrakos, Secretary of the Special Synodic Committee on Cultural Identity, will coordinate the event, which will be held with no public attending and will be broadcast online from the www.ekklisia1821gr website and from www.ecclesiatv.gr web TV channel.
